Industrial Paint Remover: When to Use It and How to Handle It Safely

Before repainting any equipment or steel structure, the old coating has to come off first. Manual scraping alone takes time and effort, especially with multiple layers and heavy industrial coatings. This is where a paint remover comes in.
What is a paint remover?
A blend of strong solvents that penetrates coating layers and breaks down their adhesion to the surface, so they can be removed with minimal mechanical effort. NCCO PAINT REMOVER 26 is a chlorinated solvent formulation, effective on oil-based and solvent-based coatings.
Where is it used?
- Removal of industrial paints, varnishes and lacquers
- Surface preparation of steel, iron and aluminum before recoating
- Maintenance and refurbishment of equipment and structures
- Automotive paint removal and refinishing
- Cleaning of tools, molds and painting equipment
- Removal of coatings from concrete and masonry surfaces
- Multi-layer and heavy-duty coating systems
How does it save time?
- Fast-acting on coatings
- Penetrates multiple coating layers
- High solvency power
- Reduces scraping and labor time
Safety first
Paint remover is a strong solvent and must be handled with care:
- Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin
- Use only in well-ventilated areas
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes
- Protective equipment: chemical-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and respiratory protection if needed
Storage
Store in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat and strong oxidizing agents. Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture under proper storage conditions.
From waste to product
NCCO’s R&D team developed this product from chlorinated solvent waste generated by an industrial process, after purifying and recovering the solvents and removing impurities under controlled operating conditions.
