From Solvent Waste to Product: The Story of NCCO 3000

In many factories, solvent waste from paints and printing inks follows a single path: disposal. At NCCO, we started from a different question: what value is inside this waste? The answer was an industrial product called NCCO 3000.
Waste treated as a burden, with value inside
Solvent waste from paint and printing lines is usually treated as an operational burden that needs storage, transport and treatment. In reality, it contains solvents that can be recovered when its properties are studied carefully and it is processed under controlled operating conditions.
From a question to a product
NCCO’s R&D team studied this waste, recovered the solvents from it, and developed them into a multi-purpose industrial thinner. NCCO 3000 was the first product launched by NCCO’s R&D team.
What is NCCO 3000?
NCCO 3000 is a paint thinner made from a blend of organic solvents, designed to deliver high solvency, fast evaporation and consistent performance during application. It is manufactured at NCCO’s plant in the 3rd Industrial City, Jeddah.
| Appearance | Clear, colorless liquid |
| Density at 25 °C | 0.88 g/cm³ |
| Boiling point | 85 °C |
| Flash point | 10 °C |
| Shelf life | 24 months under recommended storage conditions |
Benefits
- High solvency for resins and polymers.
- Fast evaporation for faster drying.
- Excellent flow and leveling.
- Low residue after evaporation.
Applications
- Standalone thinner for dilution.
- Component in paint and coating formulations.
- Printing inks, adhesives and cleaning applications.
- Nitrocellulose, acrylic and vinyl systems.
Even the residue became products
The journey did not stop at the recovered solvent. The residue left after recovery was also developed by the R&D team into two products: a protective coating and an enhancer for insulation systems.
A journey across NCCO’s three divisions
The story of NCCO 3000 passes through all three of NCCO’s divisions:
- Environmental Sustainability: collecting and receiving the waste.
- Research and Development: studying its properties, recovering the solvents and developing the product.
- Industrial: production at NCCO’s plant in Jeddah.
This is the model we work by: turning what is considered waste into a product that re-enters the market.
What does this mean for our customers?
NCCO 3000 is a Saudi product made in Jeddah. Sourcing from a local supplier reduces the operational risks linked to imports and makes it easier to get technical support and the technical data sheet directly from the plant.
Storage and safety
NCCO 3000 and its vapors are highly flammable. Keep it in tightly closed containers in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat, sparks and flames, and use it in well-ventilated areas with personal protective equipment.
